I Was Bullied in Elementary School - My Story

Time for me to be 100% honest with all of you. I have struggled with my weight all my life - no surprise there! But those struggles also run deep emotionally. Being the "fat kid" makes you the target for bullies. What I am about to share with you is something that I have never shared with anyone, ever. But, it needs to be shared. Not everyone has a support system they can turn to when they are facing bullies, or they don't know what to do when they are being bullied. You don't think there  is anything you can do, so you just keep everything to yourself.

When I was in elementary school, yes, ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, I was picked on because of my weight. Even in middle school I was. But elementary school? I know kids can be mean, and a random comment here or there about my weight never really affected me. What truly hurt was this one person repeatedly doing it. They weren't even in my grade, so I didn't know why they even paid attention. It always happened at recess. I would get made fun of because I wasn't fast, or I couldn't run as far, etc., but I never said anything to the kid. But the comments really hurt me. I remember going home and crying because I wasn't "skinny" because I thought I wasn't good at anything. It really gave me a complex at an early age, not to mention body image issues that I still struggle with, and probably always will.

If I could talk to this person today, I don't even know what I would say. I would like to think that I have put the past behind me and all the comments have made me a stronger person, but I would be lying. I still think back to those times on the playground and wonder what it would have been like if I was skinny. Being picked on is something that a lot of kids have to endure, and it shouldn't be that way. You NEVER know what the other person is going through, so you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. I never had the courage or confidence to stand up for myself. Confidence is something that I continue to struggle with, but I am working on it and have significantly increased my self-confidence over the past year.

April 2014
A year ago, I decided I wanted, heck, even NEEDED a change. That is when I decided that my health was important and decided to give Beachbody a shot! This was one of the best decisions I have ever made.  If I would have had the confidence back then that I have now, I don't know if it would have had the same effect on me. Yes, it still bothers me, but it is in my past and I WILL NOT let if hold me back from reaching my goals! I think this experience has made me more compassionate and understanding, not only as a person, but also as a coach. I know what some of my challengers are going through, and I can relate to them. No, I'm not that kid anymore, but I have grown into someone who wants to pay it forward and help as many in a similar situation as I was to reach their goals. I understand my challengers on a different level than most coaches. I'm still not the skinny person people expect fitness coaches to be, but I am a fitter, healthier person than I have ever been because of my decision to give Beachbody a try.

April 2015
Whether you are a teenager, adult, whatever, and you are being bullied, just know that there are people in your lives that are willing to help you. Just have enough strength to go and talk to someone. Don't let the bullies get to you. You are strong and your life is worth living.

If you are ready to make positive changes in your life, then join me in my next challenge group! I would love to have you and get to know your story!

Fit Mommas Support Group

This post is directed specifically to mothers! ***DISCLAIMER - - I AM NOT A MOTHER*** With that being said, I am a mom to a fur baby, Geno :) I know it isn't the same as having children, but I can somewhat relate to you.  I have seen this so many times that once you become a mother, you don't make yourself as much as a priority as maybe you should. You have less time on yourself because you want to make your child(ren) your top priority. I get it! I do! But, I also think that making yourself a priority is just as important. In order for you to be the best mom to your child(ren), you, yourself, need to be the best you can be.  What am I getting at?

I am hosting a support group specifically for mothers (either of human babies or fur babies) to help you make yourself a priority. This group is a private Facebook group that I will add you to so that you will receive one on one support from me on ways to make healthier lifestyle choices while guiding you through a workout program of your choice. I have a background in health and teaching, so I try to implement what I have learned into all of my challenge groups.  My goal for this group is to let you moms know that it is OKAY to take time for yourself each day. Even just 30 minutes.  You shouldn't have to feel guilty about this. I want to help you!

I will offer you tips and tricks for busy moms who need quick, easy, healthy recipes that are family friendly. I love to cook, so I am always coming up with new recipes! :) I will also provide motivation, support, accountability, and a gentle nudge if needed to help you reach your goals. Whether your goal is to lose baby weight, gain energy, eat better, whatever the case may be, I can help you.

With Mother's Day coming up, I am offering a chance to win an Amazon Gift card to my challengers who refers new qualifying challengers to participate in this group. Here is the catch: you and those you refer must purchase a challenge pack from me. I will add you to the group, and for each referral, your name will get entered. If you refer 5 people, you get 5 chances to win. Working out is more fun when you have friends or family there supporting and encouraging you! If you, or someone you know is interested in joining this group, fill out the form below! Why not you?

What does it take to be a Beachbody Coach?

All it takes is the desire to live a healthy life and help others do the same. That is it! Seems too easy, right? Wrong! Beachbody coaching provides you with the opportunity to earn money while helping others.  Whether you just want to be a discount coach, a working coach, or somewhere in between, Beachbody coaching really is for anyone. Do you have to be in perfect shape? Nope! What is the perfect shape anyway?

If you have the desire to motivate others to achieve their fitness goals, want the potential to earn a 6 figure income from home, and want to work with other like-minded people, then look no further than this opportunity of a lifetime. I am part of the number one team in the company! Not only will i give you support and motivation to reach your coaching goals, but you will have access to the great minds of thousands of other coaches on our team.

What are the requirements?

Most importantly, you have to be a product of the product. This means doing the workouts and drinking Shakeology every day. Share your story with others to help inspire them to want to live healthier. Why do you have to do this? So you can show people that these products really do work if you put in the effort. You are proof of that! Showing your success will help motivate others to join you.

Join My Team!

My Beachbody journey started as a challenger in August 2014.  It wasn't until December that I decided to become a coach.  I have a background in Health and Physical Education, and thought that this was something that I am passionate about.  I enjoy helping people, especially those who have a similar story to me.  I have lost about 65 pounds with Beachbody so far, but I still have a long way to go.  Why not help others accomplish their goals while accomplishing mine at the same time? Running challenge groups is a great way to motivate my challengers, as well as helps to keep me accountable.

Coaching has brought forth many opportunities for me, and I am thankful for every one of them.  I have met some amazing people so far, and have learned so much from them.  Surrounding yourself with like minded people is truly an amazing experience.  Their passion for health and fitness helps ignites the passion in me to do better every day.

What I am looking for:
* People who are motivated to help others
* Those who have a passion to help others
* People who want to change the lives of others and help them live healthier lifestyles

Perks:
* Get to workout and live a healthy lifestyle
* Get paid to help others
* Get a discount on Beachbody products

Do you have to be super fit and lean? NO! I'm not there, YET! All you need to be is passionate about clean eating, working out, helping others, and be motivated to want to make changes in your life and those around you!  Does this sound like you? If so, I would LOVE to have you join my team for a 5 day sneak peak into Beachbody coaching to see what it is all about.  Spots are filling up fast, so fill out the form below or send me an email to keilaorr@gmail.com to reserve your spot today!

MY Transformation - So Far!

I was hesitant about using myself for my Transformation Tuesday, but when I was comparing pictures of myself over the past year, I decided, why not? Since July, I have lost 60 pounds! That was when I started to drink Shakeology daily and workout regularly.  I know it isn't about the number of pounds lost, but more importantly how I feel. And I feel GREAT! I have so much more energy, I am able to do more physical activities, and I am enjoying feeling healthier.

Chicago, April 2014

I can't believe the difference in myself in less than a year.  Never would I have thought that I would be able to lose weight or keep it off.  It hasn't been easy, but it has definitely been worth the sweat.  I will continue with this journey until I am satisfied with my fitness level, and then I will just work to maintain it.  A few of the biggest reasons that I have been so successful is because of my Beachbody coach, the challenge groups that I participated in as a challenger (and now as a coach), and learning to eat properly.

February, 2015
February 2015

I am signed up for my first 5k in a few weeks, and I am surprised at how much I am able to run.  Weighing what I weigh, running is still a little difficult, but it is getting so much easier.  It will take a lot more training before I am able to run a 5k without having to walk parts of it, but one day I WILL be able to do that!  I believe setting goals is what helps keep your motivated, and I have weekly and monthly goals that are constantly changing as my fitness level improves.

I used to only eat 2, maybe 3 times a day because I was trying to limit my calories.  What I should have been doing was eating 5-6 times a day, every 2-3 hours to help keep my metabolism revved.  I know this now, and that is what I try to do.  Eating less puts your body in starvation mode, which will make it want to hang on to everything it can when you feed it because it doesn't know when it will get food again.  Eating every 2-3 hours keeps you fuller longer and prevents your body from going into starvation mode.

Here is an example of what a typical day of eating is like for me:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with honey, cinnamon, and a diced apple
Snack: Greek yogurt, veggies
Lunch: Grilled chicken salad with light dressing
Snack: Shakeology with a banana, PB 2, and sometimes spinach
Dinner: Lean grilled meat (fish, chicken, venison, etc.), brown rice, veggies

Eating healthy is 80% of the battle.  Once you get your nutrition under control, the rest will happen naturally.  Do you have what it takes to be the best version of yourself? I have a support/challenge group starting on March 16th, and I want you to joint me! Are you in? Email me at: keilamccracken@yahoo.com with the subject: I'm In For March 16th! Progress - Weeks 5 & 6

Weeks 5 & 6 were a bit hectic for me.  I know that I could have put forth more effort during my workouts, and I even skipped a few.  However, I am in the process of training for my first ever 5K on March 14th, and spent a lot of time shoveling snow.

With that being said, I am continuing to get stronger each day, and am continuing to lose weight.  I am down a total of 20 pounds on P90 and still have one month to go!  Today starts Phase C, and I have not done my workout yet.  I will as soon as I finish this post.

Phase B - I'm glad it is over, but I am also thinking I should extend it a week or two.  I am able to almost do full pushups now :) and I don't need the modifications for any of the moves anymore.  That is proof in and of itself that my strength is continuing to increase.  I like variety in my workouts, and with this program, it is the same 2 workouts that alternate each day.  That is my only complaint.

Ab Ripper B was intense, but I made sure I got it in at least 4 times a week.  I am beginning to see my middle becoming more defined, especially my upper abs.  I can feel the outline of my obliques, and have a slimmer core.  I may eventually have abs!!! Once I get the rest of this excess weight off, that is!

I could not be happier with my progress so far with Beachbody.   Since starting my Beachbody and Shakeology journey, I am down a total of 60 pounds! I don't think I could have done this without the help of my Beachbody coach, and the support groups that I have participated in.  This is what drives me to want to help others reach their fitness goal! So they, too, can feel this excitement that I feel with my progress so far.

If you are interested in joining my next support group, fill out the application below, or send an email to keilaorr@gmail.com.  I would love to help you work towards your fitness goals!

Progress: Weeks 3 & 4

I continue to feel really great with this program!  The moves are getting easier, and I can feel myself getting stronger.  I am down a total of 13 pounds in the first month (Phase A) and a total of 10 inches.  My husband continues to comment on how strong I am getting and is seeing more definition in my arms, legs, and back.  I love the confidence I am gaining in myself!

I am excited to start Phase B and see what results I can get from that.  For the next month, I will be switching things up and doing Sculpt 3 days a week and Sweat 2 days a week.  I want to get stronger and feel as though switching things up will help me reach my goal faster.

As a way to celebrate my birthday and new lifestyle, I signed up for my first ever 5k race! I am going to try and run as much as possible, so I will need to start training for that in conjunction with using P90. I am excited and nervous to do this, but it has been on my bucket list for a while, and I finally feel like I am able to complete it.

If you would like to join me and start a fitness journey of your own, comment below, email me, for fill out the form below and I would love to help you!

Progress: Weeks 1 & 2

I finished weeks 1 and 2 of P90 and I am really starting to like the program.  I have the moves down and am able to do them with more power, thereby getting better results.  My husband told me the other day, "Wow! You have muscles in your back and arms!" I didn't know if I should be offended or what, haha! Of course I then had to flex in the mirror and see for myself, and low and behold, I had some definition! *happy dance* It is things like this, noticing some definition, and others noticing a change in me that gives me the motivation to continue on this journey.

I still have a long way to go to reach my goal weight and fitness level, but with this program, I am slowly inching closer and closer.  I am doing the Sweat Schedule because I need more cardio endurance and have a lot of weight left to lose.  I am able to digg deeper and push myself harder each day, and am able to do more of the exercises for a longer period of time.  In less than 30 minutes a day, my cardio has improved significantly over the past 2 weeks.  I can't wait to finish the next 2 weeks and compare my before and after pictures.

The Sculpt workouts are great, and I will soon need to bump up my weights to present more of a challenge for myself.  I am stronger than I have ever been, and have muscle definition where I thought I would never have muscle definition.  I can see myself finishing this program and getting great results because I am seeing the improvements I have made in two weeks time.

I was just talking with others today that losing weight is so much harder than it is to put it on.  Consistently doing these workouts and following my meal plans will not doubt give me the results I desire.  Losing weight is 80%  diet and 20% exercise.  In order to achieve results, your diet has to be balanced and healthy.  You can't destroy all of your hard work you put out in your workouts by sabotaging it in the kitchen.  If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.  Meal planning is key!  Stay tuned for my weeks 3 & 4 update!

If you want to reserve a spot in my next accountability group, message me and I will add you!

New Year - New You!

As 2015 begins, resolutions to become healthier also begin.  Who wouldn't want to make their top priority their health? I do, and I am! I have learned through my weight loss journey that it takes time, commitment, dedication, and most of all SUPPORT to help you reach your goal! I am grateful for my Beachbody family and the support and motivation they provide me on a daily basis.  Without this, I would have quit a long time ago.

I am the type of person who likes instant gratification.  Reaching my fitness goals is far from that!  My Beachbody family, as well as my husband, have been there day in and day out supporting, pushing, motivating, and giving me a gentle kick in the butt when needed to get back on track.  I am not saying I have been perfect, but I have been giving it my all to reach my goals.  If I miss a workout one day, I double up the next day.  During the holidays, I even doubled up on my workouts each day to combat the snacking that inevitably took place.

Knowing your weaknesses and knowing what you can do to overcome them is the first step in reaching your goals.  For me, it is chocolate, hands down!  My husband is such a great support and accountability partner for me because he makes me realize that the candy bar that I really WANT to buy is not something that I NEED to buy.  Then he proceeds to remind me of the number of burpees that I will have to do to burn off the calories from said candy bar (I HATE BURPEES!).

During my 21 Day Fix journey, I was constantly reminded that reaching your goals is 80% food and 20% exercise.  I didn't really know how that could be true since I had always assumed that if you workout, you will lose weight.  Man, was I wrong!  You could work out everyday, 365 days a year, but if you are still eating junk, you will not see any results.  The 21 Day Fix is a great program that helps you see what all you should be eating, and in correct portions.  It is broken down into calorie brackets, and the most food anyone should be eating is vegetables and lean proteins.  I have learned to tolerate the taste of fish because it is good for you.  I have increased my veggie intake as well, but part of that is because of my husband (he is a veggie lover!).  Just keep in mind that while exercise is very important to your health, the food you put in your body is even more important.  You have to fuel your body properly to have success.

January promotions include:

  • Insanity Max:30 Kickstart and Shakeology Challenge Pack- Very popular program at the moment! People are seeing great results! Hurry to purchase now while it is at an unbelievable price! Not recommended for beginners.
  • Insanity Max:30 Challenge Pack - Same as the above promotion, minus the Kickstart!
