Kayla's Transformation!

AHHH! I am so excited for this transformation!!

Kayla and I have been best friends since we met in Kindergarten over 25 years ago.  We have been there to support and encourage each other over the years, and I consider her a sister.  although we now live about 8 hours apart, we are still there for one another.

Kayla has always been fairly active, being around animals her entire life.  She is currently a vet tech, owns 2 gorgeous dogs and a horse, and is married to her high school sweetheart! Like a lot of people, sometimes workouts and healthy eating aren't always a top priority, but once Kayla started making them a priority again, she began seeing incredible results!  Here is her story.

Kayla started out doing T25 several months ago, but got frustrated once she hit a plateau.  She needed a little boost to get her over it so she could continue losing weight and reach her goal.  She reached out to me about Shakeology, the 3 Day Refresh, and asked to join one of my challenge groups to see if that would help.  In early January, she completed the 3 Day Refresh and began drinking Shakeology.  She has not only broken through her plateau, but has lost enough weight to almost make it to her goal ahead of schedule!  This girl is a rock star!

She has been rocking the challenge groups! Kayla not only posts daily about how she did on her food, workout, and Shakeology, but she also is a great inspiration, supporter and motivator to the other challengers.  Being in the challenge groups really helps to keep you motivated to reach your goals.  It is also a place you can go to vent if you are having a bad day, and get picked up by those who are going through the same struggles as you.  I am so proud to not only have Kayla as a challenger, but also as a great friend.

I'm not going to post specific numbers because Kayla is not quite where she wants to be yet, but she will be soon.  Since starting T25, she has lost a total of 25 pounds and 16.5 total inches! AMAZING! Kayla, you are killing it! Keep up the fantastic work!

If you want to have success like Kayla, join me in one of my challenge groups! I would love to work with you!

Brides-To-Be Fitness Challenge

As some of you may know, I am a newlywed (I got married in October 2014) so I know the challenges brides go through leading up to their wedding, especially for those DIY brides.  You focus a lot of your time to make sure every detail will go as you plan, that you won't disappoint your guests, that everything gets done on time, trying to find time to exercise so you look great in your dress, etc. Trust me, I was the same way! Want to know a secret? Things will go wrong.  It happens.  You have to to roll with the punches.  Let's face it, people are going to judge things regardless of how perfect your wedding goes.  Working out and eating healthy should absolutely be part of your wedding planning, but is often forgotten. Let me help you find a workout program geared for your needs!

What I am proposing to all of you brides-to-be is to join me in my challenge group.  What is a challenge group, you may ask? A challenge group is a private Facebook group that I have every month for all of my challengers who purchase a challenge pack from me.  In these challenge groups, I am there to help motivate you, provide support and accountability, offer advice, provide healthy recipes, sample meal plans, and a place for my challengers (YOU!) with a place to share with me and the other challengers how your day went.  This is a FREE perk of getting a challenge pack.  Think of this as a place where people are going through a similar situation as yourself, and where you can vent if you need to, share secrets to planning your wedding, gaining great support, motivation and friends along the way.

Since this challenge group is different than any of the other ones I have done, I am limiting it to brides-to-be, and any members of the wedding party.  I can do a separate challenge group for grooms-to-be and male wedding party members if there is enough interest.  Maybe the brides want to challenge their grooms to a pre-wedding fitness challenge?!

When planning your wedding, sometimes working out gets pushed to the side, if you have time for it.  I will admit, I didn't seriously start working out until 4 months prior to my wedding.  I walked/jogged outside when the weather permitted over the summer, usually after work.  I only lost about 15 pounds over the course of 3 months of working out.  About a month before my wedding, I was contacted by my current Beachbody coach about trying the 21 Day Fix.  I knew my nutrition was preventing me from losing weight, so I figured, "What do I have to lose?" I gave it a shot, and in those 21 days, I lost an additional 13 pounds and 18 total inches.

When I first bought my wedding dress, I didn't need to make any alterations.  One August day, my sister-in-law was adamant that I try on my dress again.  Well, it needed major alterations.  Thankfully, a family member of mine is a seamstress and was able to make the necessary alterations, and my dress was a little snug.  I was fine with that because I was about to start the 21 Day Fix and was sure I would lose a few pounds doing it.  However, I did not know how much I would actually lose.  I picked up my wedding dress 2 days prior to my wedding and was happy with how it fit.

To make a long story short, don't wait until the last possible moment to start "Sweating for the Wedding."  Reserve your spot today in my challenge group!  Beachbody has the 21 Day Fix and the brand new 21 Day Fix Extreme challenge packs on sale all month (February 2015).  Are you ready to start "Sweating for the Wedding?"  I would love to help you reach your goals! Fill out the form below, email, or comment below to reserve your spot before it's gone!

Happy Wedding Planning!!

Progress: Weeks 3 & 4

I continue to feel really great with this program!  The moves are getting easier, and I can feel myself getting stronger.  I am down a total of 13 pounds in the first month (Phase A) and a total of 10 inches.  My husband continues to comment on how strong I am getting and is seeing more definition in my arms, legs, and back.  I love the confidence I am gaining in myself!

I am excited to start Phase B and see what results I can get from that.  For the next month, I will be switching things up and doing Sculpt 3 days a week and Sweat 2 days a week.  I want to get stronger and feel as though switching things up will help me reach my goal faster.

As a way to celebrate my birthday and new lifestyle, I signed up for my first ever 5k race! I am going to try and run as much as possible, so I will need to start training for that in conjunction with using P90. I am excited and nervous to do this, but it has been on my bucket list for a while, and I finally feel like I am able to complete it.

If you would like to join me and start a fitness journey of your own, comment below, email me, for fill out the form below and I would love to help you!

Cod with Pico de Gallo

I am new to the world of eating fish.  I was always turned off by the smell and texture of it whenever my mom cooked it.  But, since my husband loves it, he made me try salmon first.  It was delicious!  I have since tried a variety of different fish and I can't say anything bad about it! We eat fish once a week, and I am always trying to come up with new ways to enjoy it.  Here is one of my favorite for Wild Caught Atlantic Cod.

Ingredients:

4 - 4 oz. cod fillets (or any other fish you like, works well with salmon and tilapia as well)
1 tsp olive oil
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste

Pico de Gallo:

2 ripe locally grown tomatoes (when available)
1 small onion (you can use a sweet onion, shallots, purple onion, whatever you like)
1/4 - 1/2 cup of red wine vinegar (depending on how much liquid you want in it)
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp cayenne pepper (varies depending on how hot you want it)

Directions:

Prepare the Pico de Gallo by dicing the tomatoes and onions and placing them in a bowl with a lid.  Add the remaining ingredients and give a stir.  Cover and let sit on the counter for about 30 minutes or in put in the fridge for longer.

Salt and pepper both sides of the fish.  Add the olive oil to a pan on medium high heat.  Once the oil is hot, add the fish.  Sear for 3 minutes on one side before flipping to the other side.  Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serve the Pico de Gallo on top of the fish, and serve with a side of mixed veggies.  Enjoy!
