Why I am a Beachbody Coach

This question has come up several times for me, "Why are you a Beachbody coach?" I am going to spend some time today to answer that question as honestly as I can.

I have been overweight practically my entire life.  I was active (and good at them too!) in sports throughout high school, but I was still the fat kid. I tried working out and losing weight, but nothing seemed to work.  I would get winded walking up flights of stairs, to the cafeteria, practically anywhere I went.  I was ashamed
of how I looked and how I dressed.  I didn't care about myself enough to treat my body the way it deserved.  I never wore makeup and always wore men's clothes.  They just fit better than the more form fitting women's clothes.

By the time I went to college, my self-esteem was at an all-time low.  I was afraid of showing my feelings when I was around others, and would often times cry in my bedroom at night because I was so unhappy with myself and my body.  I know I needed to make a change, but I wasn't motivated to do so, even though I was going to school to be a Health and Physical Education TEACHER!  I picked up a waitressing job to try and get me to be more outgoing, and I was often referred to as the "big girl with a pretty face" by the customers.  The older customers, in particular, were very open about telling me I needed to lose weight.  That only pissed me off further, but I would smile and say, "I know...I am working on it."  In reality, I was doing nothing of the sort.

I know what it is like to be picked on from a very young age for being overweight/fat/heavy/big boned.  Whatever you want to call it.  People think they are helping you by bringing attention to your less than perfect body, but what they are really doing is making you feel more and more depressed.  I would keep everything bottled up inside me, and would often times starve myself during the day and not eat anything until dinner, when I would binge.  I thought cutting calories all day and eating at night would be a good way to lose weight.  It only made things worse.  For years and years I did this.  I was also an emotional eater, and still am to an extent, but now I am cognizant of that and try not to be as destructive to myself.

Fast forward 8 years out of college, and not much had changed.  The one thing that did change is that I was finally ready to make those changes.  THAT WAS HUGE! In order to be successful in your endeavors, you have to want it bad enough.  That goes for anything, not just weight loss.  I decided to give Beachbody and Shakeology a try, and I fell in love! Challenge groups were the keys to my success in losing weight.  These groups held me accountable for actually working out, eating right, and living a healthy lifestyle.  I learned so much from my coach and had such great success that I wanted to pay it forward and help others.  That is why I became a Beachbody coach.

My body image of myself was nonexistent.  I hated my body, I hated myself.  I thought that no matter what I did, I was very ugly and very fat.  I still struggle with body image, and probably always will, but I can see a change in myself, and I am so much happier than I have been in years.  My husband is my rock, my biggest fan, supporter, and motivator.  He never once doubted me or my abilities, and for that, I am forever thankful.

I want to help those, who are in a similar situation that I was, and still am to an extent.  I know what you are going through because I have been there myself.  I think that is what makes me a good coach -  my passion for helping those who need it the most.  I'm not saying that I am finished with my fitness journey...not by a long shot, but I am continuing to work towards my goals.  What I am asking you is: ARE YOU READY TO JOIN ME? Join My Team!

My Beachbody journey started as a challenger in August 2014.  It wasn't until December that I decided to become a coach.  I have a background in Health and Physical Education, and thought that this was something that I am passionate about.  I enjoy helping people, especially those who have a similar story to me.  I have lost about 65 pounds with Beachbody so far, but I still have a long way to go.  Why not help others accomplish their goals while accomplishing mine at the same time? Running challenge groups is a great way to motivate my challengers, as well as helps to keep me accountable.

Coaching has brought forth many opportunities for me, and I am thankful for every one of them.  I have met some amazing people so far, and have learned so much from them.  Surrounding yourself with like minded people is truly an amazing experience.  Their passion for health and fitness helps ignites the passion in me to do better every day.

What I am looking for:
* People who are motivated to help others
* Those who have a passion to help others
* People who want to change the lives of others and help them live healthier lifestyles

Perks:
* Get to workout and live a healthy lifestyle
* Get paid to help others
* Get a discount on Beachbody products

Do you have to be super fit and lean? NO! I'm not there, YET! All you need to be is passionate about clean eating, working out, helping others, and be motivated to want to make changes in your life and those around you!  Does this sound like you? If so, I would LOVE to have you join my team for a 5 day sneak peak into Beachbody coaching to see what it is all about.  Spots are filling up fast, so fill out the form below or send me an email to keilaorr@gmail.com to reserve your spot today!

3 Day Shakeology Cleanse

I had started to plateau with my weight loss again and was feeling down and a bit sluggish.  In one of the challenge groups that I am participating in, someone had mentioned doing the 3 day cleanse with shakeology.  I have wanted to try it for a few months, but never went through with it.  Last week a group of women completed it together and saw great results!  So, this week another group of us women are going it.  I will be completely honest with you - it is tough!  If I wasn't home all day, it may be easier, but being home, especially with a sick husband, it is tough to not snack or have a bite of what he is eating.

3 Day Shakeology Cleanse:

In essence, you have 3 Shakeology shakes a day, 2 cups of green tea, 1 piece of fruit, a salad (3 cups of veggies, 4 oz. of grilled chicken or fish, light dressing such as olive oil and vinegar), and at least 64 ounces of water.  I try to drink a gallon a day, minimum.  Do this each day for 3 days.

I did not get measurements of pictures before day 1, but I did weigh myself.  I will weigh myself each morning to see what happens.

An example of my days:

Day 1:

Wake up: Green Tea
Breakfast: 1st Shake with 1 banana, 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend all and enjoy!
Snack: 1 orange
Lunch: 2nd Shake with 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend and Enjoy!
Mid Afternoon: Green Tea
Dinner: Salad (3 cups total of salad greens, tomatoes, cucumbers) with light dressing (only used 2 teaspoons), piece of grilled fish (Swai).
Snack: 3rd Shake with 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend and Enjoy!

TIP: Throughout the day: DRINK WATER! It will help curb your appetite a little bit.

Salad with grilled Swai

How I felt:

I felt pretty good after day 1.  I was a little hungry throughout the day, but I am also used to eating every 2-3 hours (about 2,200 calories a day).  There were times that I got hungry, so I had to preoccupy myself until the hunger passed.  They say you can continue to workout while doing the 3 day Shakeology cleanse, but I did not workout today, aside from a walk with my husband and dog in the afternoon.

Day 2:

Well, I weighed myself in the morning, and am happy to report that I am down 2.5 pounds already!  I was feeling tired and had a slight headache.

Wake up: Green Tea
Breakfast: 1st Shake with 1 banana, 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend all and enjoy!
Snack: 1 orange
Lunch: 2nd Shake with 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend and Enjoy!
Mid Afternoon: Green Tea
Dinner: Salad (3 cups total of salad greens, tomatoes, cucumbers) with light dressing (only used 2 teaspoons), piece of grilled chicken.
Snack: 3rd Shake with 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend and Enjoy!

TIP: Throughout the day: DRINK WATER! It will help curb your appetite a little bit.

How I felt:

I felt pretty good after day 2. I was a little more tired than usual, but it wasn't anything too bad.  I was feeling hungrier than I did on Day 1, so I made my salad a little earlier in the day.  No real workout either, just a walk around town to get out and soak up some sunshine...cold sunshine, but sunshine nonetheless :)  Hoping for a strong Day 3!

Day 3:

Well, I weighed myself in the morning, and am happy to report that I am down 6.5 pounds in two days!  I was still feeling tired, but my headache was gone.

How I felt:

I felt pretty good after day 3.

Day 4:

Well, I weighed myself in the morning, and am happy to report that I am down 9.5 pounds in three days! CLEANSE IS DONE! Time for whole food again!  This cleanse was a test of my willpower and determination. However, I was determined to stay on track and get over my plateau!  I won't lie, it was a tough 3 days, but it was also very worth it.

MY Transformation - So Far!

I was hesitant about using myself for my Transformation Tuesday, but when I was comparing pictures of myself over the past year, I decided, why not? Since July, I have lost 60 pounds! That was when I started to drink Shakeology daily and workout regularly.  I know it isn't about the number of pounds lost, but more importantly how I feel. And I feel GREAT! I have so much more energy, I am able to do more physical activities, and I am enjoying feeling healthier.

Chicago, April 2014

I can't believe the difference in myself in less than a year.  Never would I have thought that I would be able to lose weight or keep it off.  It hasn't been easy, but it has definitely been worth the sweat.  I will continue with this journey until I am satisfied with my fitness level, and then I will just work to maintain it.  A few of the biggest reasons that I have been so successful is because of my Beachbody coach, the challenge groups that I participated in as a challenger (and now as a coach), and learning to eat properly.

February, 2015
February 2015

I am signed up for my first 5k in a few weeks, and I am surprised at how much I am able to run.  Weighing what I weigh, running is still a little difficult, but it is getting so much easier.  It will take a lot more training before I am able to run a 5k without having to walk parts of it, but one day I WILL be able to do that!  I believe setting goals is what helps keep your motivated, and I have weekly and monthly goals that are constantly changing as my fitness level improves.

I used to only eat 2, maybe 3 times a day because I was trying to limit my calories.  What I should have been doing was eating 5-6 times a day, every 2-3 hours to help keep my metabolism revved.  I know this now, and that is what I try to do.  Eating less puts your body in starvation mode, which will make it want to hang on to everything it can when you feed it because it doesn't know when it will get food again.  Eating every 2-3 hours keeps you fuller longer and prevents your body from going into starvation mode.

Here is an example of what a typical day of eating is like for me:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with honey, cinnamon, and a diced apple
Snack: Greek yogurt, veggies
Lunch: Grilled chicken salad with light dressing
Snack: Shakeology with a banana, PB 2, and sometimes spinach
Dinner: Lean grilled meat (fish, chicken, venison, etc.), brown rice, veggies

Eating healthy is 80% of the battle.  Once you get your nutrition under control, the rest will happen naturally.  Do you have what it takes to be the best version of yourself? I have a support/challenge group starting on March 16th, and I want you to joint me! Are you in? Email me at: keilamccracken@yahoo.com with the subject: I'm In For March 16th! Progress - Weeks 5 & 6

Weeks 5 & 6 were a bit hectic for me.  I know that I could have put forth more effort during my workouts, and I even skipped a few.  However, I am in the process of training for my first ever 5K on March 14th, and spent a lot of time shoveling snow.

With that being said, I am continuing to get stronger each day, and am continuing to lose weight.  I am down a total of 20 pounds on P90 and still have one month to go!  Today starts Phase C, and I have not done my workout yet.  I will as soon as I finish this post.

Phase B - I'm glad it is over, but I am also thinking I should extend it a week or two.  I am able to almost do full pushups now :) and I don't need the modifications for any of the moves anymore.  That is proof in and of itself that my strength is continuing to increase.  I like variety in my workouts, and with this program, it is the same 2 workouts that alternate each day.  That is my only complaint.

Ab Ripper B was intense, but I made sure I got it in at least 4 times a week.  I am beginning to see my middle becoming more defined, especially my upper abs.  I can feel the outline of my obliques, and have a slimmer core.  I may eventually have abs!!! Once I get the rest of this excess weight off, that is!

I could not be happier with my progress so far with Beachbody.   Since starting my Beachbody and Shakeology journey, I am down a total of 60 pounds! I don't think I could have done this without the help of my Beachbody coach, and the support groups that I have participated in.  This is what drives me to want to help others reach their fitness goal! So they, too, can feel this excitement that I feel with my progress so far.

If you are interested in joining my next support group, fill out the application below, or send an email to keilaorr@gmail.com.  I would love to help you work towards your fitness goals!
