3 Day Shakeology Cleanse

I had started to plateau with my weight loss again and was feeling down and a bit sluggish.  In one of the challenge groups that I am participating in, someone had mentioned doing the 3 day cleanse with shakeology.  I have wanted to try it for a few months, but never went through with it.  Last week a group of women completed it together and saw great results!  So, this week another group of us women are going it.  I will be completely honest with you - it is tough!  If I wasn't home all day, it may be easier, but being home, especially with a sick husband, it is tough to not snack or have a bite of what he is eating.

3 Day Shakeology Cleanse:

In essence, you have 3 Shakeology shakes a day, 2 cups of green tea, 1 piece of fruit, a salad (3 cups of veggies, 4 oz. of grilled chicken or fish, light dressing such as olive oil and vinegar), and at least 64 ounces of water.  I try to drink a gallon a day, minimum.  Do this each day for 3 days.

I did not get measurements of pictures before day 1, but I did weigh myself.  I will weigh myself each morning to see what happens.

An example of my days:

Day 1:

Wake up: Green Tea
Breakfast: 1st Shake with 1 banana, 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend all and enjoy!
Snack: 1 orange
Lunch: 2nd Shake with 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend and Enjoy!
Mid Afternoon: Green Tea
Dinner: Salad (3 cups total of salad greens, tomatoes, cucumbers) with light dressing (only used 2 teaspoons), piece of grilled fish (Swai).
Snack: 3rd Shake with 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend and Enjoy!

TIP: Throughout the day: DRINK WATER! It will help curb your appetite a little bit.

How I felt:

I felt pretty good after day 1.  I was a little hungry throughout the day, but I am also used to eating every 2-3 hours (about 2,200 calories a day).  There were times that I got hungry, so I had to preoccupy myself until the hunger passed.  They say you can continue to workout while doing the 3 day Shakeology cleanse, but I did not workout today, aside from a walk with my husband and dog in the afternoon.

Day 2:

Well, I weighed myself in the morning, and am happy to report that I am down 2.5 pounds already!  I was feeling tired and had a slight headache.

Wake up: Green Tea
Breakfast: 1st Shake with 1 banana, 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend all and enjoy!
Snack: 1 orange
Lunch: 2nd Shake with 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend and Enjoy!
Mid Afternoon: Green Tea
Dinner: Salad (3 cups total of salad greens, tomatoes, cucumbers) with light dressing (only used 2 teaspoons), piece of grilled chicken.
Snack: 3rd Shake with 12 oz. of water, 7 ice cubes.  Blend and Enjoy!

TIP: Throughout the day: DRINK WATER! It will help curb your appetite a little bit.

How I felt:

I felt pretty good after day 2. I was a little more tired than usual, but it wasn't anything too bad.  I was feeling hungrier than I did on Day 1, so I made my salad a little earlier in the day.  No real workout either, just a walk around town to get out and soak up some sunshine...cold sunshine, but sunshine nonetheless :)  Hoping for a strong Day 3!

Day 3:

Well, I weighed myself in the morning, and am happy to report that I am down 6.5 pounds in two days!  I was still feeling tired, but my headache was gone.

How I felt:

I felt pretty good after day 3.

Day 4:

Well, I weighed myself in the morning, and am happy to report that I am down 9.5 pounds in three days! CLEANSE IS DONE! Time for whole food again!  This cleanse was a test of my willpower and determination. However, I was determined to stay on track and get over my plateau!  I won't lie, it was a tough 3 days, but it was also very worth it.
